To set up your VX360, plug it into your Tesla’s glovebox USB port, a USB charger at home, or directly into your computer and wait 30 seconds for the device to boot.
If the dashcam icon doesn’t turn grey or red: unplug and reconnect the VX360. If the issue persists, try using a different cable.
If an alert appears on the top right of your Tesla dashboard asking you to unplug and replug the VX360 device, you can safely ignore it.
Depending on the task, your VX360 should be plugged into either your Tesla or a power source at home:
Collecting Footage: To collect footage, plug your VX360 into your Tesla while driving.
Configuring the Device: You can configure your VX360 by connecting it to your Tesla or to any 5V power source at home.
Uploading Footage: To upload footage, keep your VX360 plugged into your Tesla if it’s within range of a saved Wi-Fi network, or connect it to a power source near your home Wi-Fi router.
If you plugged your device into your Tesla’s glovebox USB port, a dashcam icon should appear on your screen with a grey or red dot. More information .
